The TP-Link Archer AXE95 uses advanced 6GHz wireless technology and multi-gig wired connectivity to deliver speedy throughput, making it the new king of Wi-Fi 6E routers.
Design: That Old-School Eight-Antenna Look
The TP-Link Archer AXE95 might look like a blast from the past with its eight non-removable antennas, but don't let that fool you. This tri-band router packs a punch with its speedy performance and multi-gig capabilities, earning it an Editors' Choice award for Wi-Fi 6E routers.

Speedy Performance and Multi-Gig Connectivity
The AXE95 is a tri-band AXE7800 router, meaning it can hit theoretical data rates of up to 574Mbps on the 2.4GHz band, up to 4,802Mbps on the 5GHz band, and up to 2,402Mbps on the 6GHz band. And with a 1.7GHz quad-core CPU and 512MB of RAM, this router delivers fast throughput performance and supports Wi-Fi 6E technologies like OFDMA and MU-MIMO.
Free HomeShield Parental Controls and Network Security Software
Not only does the AXE95 offer speedy performance, but it also comes with free HomeShield parental control and network security software. The Basic version offers features like age-based web filtering and site blocking, while the Advanced and Total Security packages provide even more protection for your network and devices.
Signal Strength Where You Need It
Using an Ekahau Sidekick Wi-Fi diagnostic device and Survey mobile app, we tested the AXE95's signal strength throughout a test home. While the 2.4GHz and 5GHz signals were strong, the 6GHz signals were relatively weak. This is likely due to FCC regulations, but new rules have been approved to allow for stronger 6GHz transmissions in the future.
Verdict: A Wi-Fi 6E Winner
If you're looking to take advantage of the 6GHz Wi-Fi radio band without breaking the bank, the TP-Link Archer AXE95 is a solid choice.
With its speedy performance, multi-gig connectivity, and free parental controls and network security software, it's a winner in our book. So don't let the eight antennas fool you, this router is a powerhouse.
